Ali Mayer, is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in the treatment of adolescents, adults, and partners struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar, grief & loss, relationship and attachment issues, and other general life and work stressors.
Ali’s therapeutic work is centered around building a strong therapeutic alliance & creating a safe and comfortable space for the client. Ali uses a strengths based, relational and nonjudgmental approach.
Ali utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help clients establish a values driven life in the hopes of creating a life worth living. Ali also believes in tailoring the therapeutic interventions to meet the client’s needs and integrates approaches such as DBT, ACT, Exposure & Response Prevention Therapy, CBT, and Experiential Therapy.
Ali received her Master’s degree in social work from Loyola university Chicago. She completed her internship at the Evanston Hospital Bridge’s program. Before pursuing private practice, Ali worked at Eating Recovery Center in Chicago in the residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care, working with a variety of people struggling with eating disorders, mood, anxiety, dissociative episodes, trauma flashbacks, self injury, and suicidality.
Ali’s goal is to establish an individualized, integrative relationship with each client to help them explore internal experiences and barriers to living an enriched, full and meaningful life.
