Dr. Abby Brown, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, is an enthusiastic and dedicated therapist in Chicago who specializes in the treatment of emerging adult and adult populations who are struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, body image concerns, work/life balance and relationship difficulties.
Abby holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Adler University (formerly Adler School of Professional Psychology). Prior to joining Cityscape Counseling, Abby worked and trained in residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings, including Eating Recovery Center in Chicago and Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, where she treated individuals with eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and co-occurring issues including substance abuse and nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI). Abby completed her doctoral internship at Northwestern University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and clinical training at Purdue University Calumet’s Counseling Center, successfully working with university undergraduate and graduate student populations.
Abby utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) in the treatment of her clients. She is in the process of being trained in Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RODBT), a treatment targeted towards disorders of the emotionally “over-controlled”, commonly found in anorexia nervosa and OCD. Abby is thrilled to bring this premier treatment to Cityscape Counseling.
