Family Based Treatment for Eating Disorders in Chicago

Family-Based Treatment/Maudsley Method is an empirically supported treatment for children & adolescents who meet criteria for a diagnosis of Anorexia Nervosa and who require weight restoration.

The treatment is aimed at coaching parents to help their children restore to a healthy weight at home in order to prevent hospitalization and inpatient treatment.

Treatment includes in-session meal coaching with the adolescent and family, weight monitoring, problem solving around meal times and eventually helping the adolescent learn to eat on their own.

Chelsea Hudson, Cityscape's founder completed both her internship and thesis at the University of Chicago’s Eating Disorder’s Program where she trained under Dr. Daniel Le Grange, founder of FBT in the U.S.
