Dani Parmacek, a licensed professional counselor and registered dance movement therapist, is a warm, dedicated, and creative therapist in Chicago. She has experience working with adolescents and adults with all types of eating disorders as well as comorbid mood disorders, anxiety disorders, self-esteem issues, grief/loss and trauma.
Dani has a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Dance/Movement Therapy from Columbia College Chicago. Dani previously worked at the Renfrew Center, a premier Eating Disorder higher level of care treatment center in Chicago. Whilst there, Dani worked as a therapist in PHP and IOP levels of care, treating clients ages 12+ with eating disorders and related mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Dani utilized Renfrew’s Unified Treatment Model, an empirically supported, trans- diagnostic, treatment approach to treat clients through the use of individual, family, and group therapy sessions.
Dani values a strong therapeutic relationship where clients will also learn and practice a wide variety of skills to help them function more effectively, and to ultimately create more meaningful and fulfilling lives. Dani is also able to integrate her creative work and dance/movement therapy background with her training in evidenced-based treatment modalities to help empower clients to find their own unique paths to recovery.
