About Elisabeth

She worked for many years in community-based public health settings, providing counseling and case management to a diverse range of clients, prior to entering private practice.

Elisabeth’s passion is helping clients find their inner strength and resiliency. She uses short-term solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioral therapy to support and encourage growth and self-compassion. Elisabeth believes that life is worth living and that each of us has inherent worth and dignity.  She finds it a privilege to help clients uncover their own strength and optimism about life.

A Note From Elisabeth

I decided to become a therapist because I like connecting with people, and I care deeply for others. I am motivated to help you access your inner strength and wisdom when faced with difficulties in life. My approach to therapy is warm and non-judgmental. Life is hard. It can help to have a safe place to bring feelings of stress however they manifest: anxiety, depression, disordered eating or chronic health conditions. I am keenly aware of the relationship between mental and physical health.

In my spare time I love to be with my friends and family, watch movies and documentaries, take in art and music in many forms and walk for exercise. I have recently moved to Chicago from North Carolina, and I look forward to exploring The Windy City as I settle in to my new home.

While her office is located in downtown Chicago next to Millenium park for in-person sessions, she also welcomes and serves clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois. Clients from the Chicagoland area may choose in-office or online therapy and usually commute from surrounding areas such as River North, South Loop, West Loop, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown and many more.
