Jessica Dattalo, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker is an empathetic and collaborative in-office and online therapist in Chicago who specializes in the treatment of adolescents and adults struggling with Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Eating Disorders, Depression, Trauma, Grief & Loss, Transitions, Perfectionism, Relationship Difficulties and Work/School related issues.
Jessica holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before moving into private practice, her experience ranged from providing therapy in programs offering higher levels of care (from Residential to Intensive Outpatient), as well as working as a School Counselor with middle and high school students, facilitating crisis intervention and teaching Social Emotional Learning. Jessica believes that it is never too early or too later to begin discovering who you are and who you were meant to be.
She views each client in the context of their environment and through values exploration, skills training, thought restructuring and motivational interviewing wants to help you discover how to become your happiest, healthiest, and most integrated version of yourself. She believes that when we learn to develop a new relationship with our struggles and our emotions, we can learn to create the life we were meant to live.
Jessica is dedicated to integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into her sessions. These evidenced based approaches provide her clients with the necessary skills and strategies to be better equipped to manage life’s challenges. Resilience is key and she looks forward to supporting you on your journey to healing, self-discovery, and living your most meaningful life.
A Note From Jessica
I decided to become a therapist because I naturally love connecting with others and always wanted to help make the world a better place. I believe when we are our happiest, healthiest, and most authentic selves we can then share those same gifts with others, leading to a better overall world. My personal therapy style is best described as engaged, compassionate, and inspirational.
In my spare time, I love spending time with family and friends, practicing yoga and finding new outdoor adventures. In the winter months, I get my fill by enjoying nature documentaries and taking care of my ever growing litter of house plants. I’m also fascinated by personality tests and how they can help people better understand themselves.
While her office is located in downtown Chicago next to Millenium park for in-person sessions, she also welcomes and serves clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois. Clients from the Chicagoland area may choose in-office or online therapy and usually commute from surrounding areas such as River North, South Loop, West Loop, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown and many more. Dr. Brown also has an office in Evanston.
