Jillian Ross
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
(she/her/hers)
Jillian Ross, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, is an open-minded, warm, and energetic clinician in Chicago. She uses a strengths-based, skill-focused, caring approach, and holds an unconditional positive regard for each of her clients. She has experience working with children and adolescents struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, and behavioral and emotional dysregulation.
About Jillian
Jillian has both a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master’s Degree in Social Work, with a concentration in mental health, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Upon completing her Master’s internship, she began her career in the field of mental health. After four years of working with both adults and adolescents, involved with the justice system, she shifted gears to work in a Partial Hospitalization setting at Compass Health Center. At Compass Jillian worked as a group therapist within both the adolescent and young child programs with a concentration on anxiety, mood disorders, and behavioral and emotional dysregulation.
Jillian emphasizes the importance of the rapport built within a client-clinician relationship and encourages collaboration in both treatment planning and the direction of treatment. Jillian predominantly uses CBT, DBT, and ACT in working with her clients and is always open to learning about and incorporating new and different treatment techniques. She also integrates both mindfulness and creative expression into her practice.
A Note From Jillian
My choice to become a therapist was an easy decision, made at a young age, sprouting from my passion for caring for and connecting with others. My therapeutic style incorporates humor, compassion, kindness and understanding. I aim to create a warm, inclusive, personalized, and exploratory environment in which we can foster a strong client-therapist relationship. My objective is to help you attain your goals and effectively manage your symptoms in any way that we together see fit.
In my spare time I enjoy gardening, cooking, roller skating, walking my sweet dog Sophie, and working out on my Peloton.
While her office is located in downtown Chicago next to Millenium park for in-person sessions, she also welcomes and serves clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois. Clients from the Chicagoland area may choose in-office or online therapy and usually commute from surrounding areas such as River North, South Loop, West Loop, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown and many more.
