Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Therapist
Rachael Dobis, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Yoga Teacher, is a passionate and empathic in-office and online therapist in Chicago who specializes in the treatment of adults struggling with eating disorders (binge eating disorder, chronic dieting and bulimia), anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, and general life stressors.
Rachael holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. While completing her master’s she worked at Presence Saint Mary and Elizabeth’s Outpatient Behavioral Health. Before pursuing private practice, Rachael worked in various roles at Eating Recovery Center in residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs.
Rachael works to create a warm and empathic space that allows clients to explore barriers and challenges in their lives. While actively collaborating with clients to identify their goals, Rachael supports individuals in exploring their values and increasing self-understanding to create growth and bring about meaningful change. Rachael draws upon mindfulness based approaches and utilizes various evidence-based approaches including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Written Exposure Therapy (WET) to support clients in overcoming life’s challenges.
While her office is located in downtown Chicago next to Millenium park for in-person sessions, she also welcomes and serves clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois. Clients from the Chicagoland area may choose in-office or online therapy and usually commute from surrounding areas such as River North, South Loop, West Loop, Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View, Logan Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown and many more.
