About Ruth

Ruth brings a gentle but honest compassion to her therapeutic work, which is influenced by evidence-based best practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT).

She utilizes a Health At Every Size (HAES) framework to support people of all sizes, races, ethnicities, genders, dis/abilities, and orientations in their pursuit of health and meaningful life. Ruth looks forward to helping you build a stronger and healthier connection with your body as you address life stressors and/or body image concerns.

Ruth received her MSW from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and now holds an LCSW. She has worked in child welfare in case manager, adoption worker, and therapist roles, which has allowed her to work with clients of various ethnic, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.

A Note From Ruth

Working as a therapist has allowed me to work with people of varying backgrounds and concerns, and I feel so privileged to build trusting relationships with my clients as we process their personal journeys. I hope to bring hope into each session, and strive to engage with everyone in a manner that is warm, genuine, and honest.

In my free time, I love spending time with my family hiking and exploring parks and restaurants. I also love to read, spend time outdoors with friends, and travel when I get the chance!

She welcomes and serves clients for online therapy from anywhere in Illinois.
